Owner
Mark Horn, along with the Solution team, is a proven expert in color, cut and styling. He has trained with Aveda, Bumble & Bumble, Sebastian, Vidal Sassoon, Modern Organic Products, NARS Cosmetics, Prive, Davines Hair Color , Pivot Point Cutting Systems, Yves Durif, HairColor USA and countless others. He spent 3 years as an educator for Schwarzkoph hair color.
Mark’s work has been featured in Redbook, Houston , The Houston Chronicle, Brilliant, Bazaar and Allure magazines. He was the lead stylist for DISHES on Ice, the fashion world’s fundraiser, and worked with models such as Giselle, Inez, Roshumbu, Veronica Webb and Kelly Emberg. His dedication to client development and customer service won him recognition with American Express with the Award of Excellence for Outstanding Small Business. He has been sought after by national hairstyle magazines for his expertise, as well as being listed in Brilliant magazine’s “What’s Hot” list. He was also a finalist for the Global Salon Entrepeneur of the Year in 2006. |

Keelan Baker
Raised in his mother’s salon, Keelan Baker was exposed to hairstyling and coloring from a very early age. In addition to assisting in the family’s bustling salon, he gained specialized product knowledge through training with Schwarzkopf and Matrix.
During cosmetology school and for 3 ½ years after completion, Keelan enhanced his skills at Riaro, an Aveda concept salon in Houston. He also spent several months traveling across Europe in an effort to absorb culture and styles with which to hone his craft. Always striving to remain current in techniques and trends, Keelan takes pride in providing a wide range of style options for his clients and is very passionate about being a part of the Solution staff.
Away from work, Keelan can be found working as a deejay at Houston’s hottest clubs. He loves being a part of the vibrant community that is uniquely Houston. |

Brad Hensler
After a three year stint in New York City, Brad has returned to Solution, where he has been an integral player since 1996. His work has graced the runways of New York and Paris and can be seen in fashion magazines such as Allure, Nylon and Italian Vanity Fair. Brad brings 25 years of salon and fashion work together to achieve optimal wearable results in all aspects of beauty…cut, color and makeup. |

Riaro Gomez
Riaro Gomez brings 40 years of hairdressing experience to his new position at Solution for Hair. Born in San Antonio and raised as a child of the military, Riaro grew up all over the world. Including four years spent in Japan as a teenager. During this time he fell in love with modern design, which continues to impact his entire life – from hairstyling to home design.
After receiving his license, Riaro has continued his professional education with Vidal Sassoon (for Advanced Cutting), Trevor Sorbie, Irving Rusk, John Delaria, Paul Mitchell, Sebastian and Aveda.
Riaro has owned and worked in some of the country’s top salons including ten years at Galmachie where he was a Style Director and Educator. He also spent four years as Manager and Artistic Director with O-The Hair Color Salon, worked as Manager, Educator and Artistic Director at Labyrinth and was co-owner of Salon 2727. He owned Riaro on Kirby for six years and also served as a national educator for Aveda including platform work in New York City during that time. The Chelsea Market location of Riaro and Jon was featured in architectural design magazines.
Throughout his career, Riaro has received many favorable notices in the press, including “Best Salon” (City Search), “Top 10 Salons in Texas” (Town & Country Magazine), and mentions in Houston City for “Best Hairdresser in Houston”, The Houston Chronicle, Houston Press, Texas Monthly, Allure and Vogue Magazine. |

David Ellis
A native Houstonian, David Ellis’s career in hairdressing has spanned more than 20 years. His professional work on film and television sets, photo shoots and fashion shows has exposed him to every aspect of the hair design industry.
David has honed his skills through high-end jobs from L.A. to New York – and even in the White House – and he’s committed to refining his expertise through continued training and education. At Solution, he assists a wide clientele, but specializes in men’s hair and long hair, along with bridal and evening looks.
Away from the salon, David enjoys traveling throughout the world, and spending time with family and friends. He is also involved in numerous charitable endeavors including Camp Periwinkle for patients and their siblings through Texas Children’s Cancer Center. David also participates in two committees benefitting youth and education through the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo along with several AIDS charities. |

Claire Carmichael-Grant
Hailing from England with eighteen years of experience as a stylist and salon management Claire has touched all areas of the industry also licensed in Massage Therapy, Aesthetics and Nails. She traveled the world as a salon manager with top cruise lines including Crystal Cruise Lines and worked on several fashion shows as well as editorial work, keeping her creative spark alive.
At this point in her career, Claire’s main focus is making people feel good about their total look. As a certified Image consultant, she understands lines, form, and balance which also translates into the lines of hair and face shapes – and what suits them best including color selection and tone. It’s amazing what color can do to a hairstyle – it can make your eyes pop, minimize a feature, or draw your eye where you want it.
Giving someone a complete new look or just changing your style - Claire can do it all. Claire also loves doing special occasion looks and up-styles.
Claire consulted with Hotel ZaZa developing their their full-service spa and concept and also served as Executive Spa Director for the West Coast division upgrading the Spa brand for the Hilton corporation. She loves providing a superior level of service. |

Rachel Schwab
With two Bachelor’s Degrees under her belt, Rachel Schwab knew her true talent was doing hair. She’d been doing hair and makeup for friends since high school! Rachel decided to pursue what she was truly passionate about and attended the Paul Mitchell the School in Houston. She was as active in several clubs and was a teacher’s assistant for the entry level students. While at Paul Mitchell she received numerous awards for excellence.
Rachel is confident in both her cutting and coloring skills and is passionate about makeup. She is educated in Bumble & Bumble and Paul Mitchell products and has worked on several editorial photo shoots, some which were featured in Ft. Bend Focus Magazine.
Rachel loves spending time with family and friends. She loves the beach and doing anything outdoors. |

Lauren Amelia Blum
Lauren Blum received her license in 2004 with specialized training in Pivot Point and the Paul Mitchell Color System. She began her apprenticeship during her last semester of cosmetology school and worked at Riaro, an Aveda Concept Salon, for seven years as a color specialist with an emphasis in dimensional and corrective color. Lauren has also completed continuing education courses with Vidal Sassoon in Toronto. She believes that color should not only suit the client’s personality but also their lifestyle and desired maintenance level.
Lauren finds inspiration everywhere including modern fashion and street style. She loves looks that are “lived-in” but also refined. When she’s not behind the chair, Lauren enjoys travel and live music. We are excited to have Lauren’s expertise and passion at Solution. |

Bryan Jackson
Growing up in a family of stylists, Bryan Jackson was destined for style greatness. The Pivot Point-trained Bryan joined the Solution team in the summer of 2011.
Although his skills include cut, color, and overall styling, Bryan’s professional focus is color processing with a modern, forward-thinking approach.
Bryan is a local musician who embraces the local musical arts scene, which translates into his craft as a stylist. |

Jeromy Robinson
The newest addition to the Solution team, Jeromy Robinson, studied at Paul Mitchell The School, where he honed his skills with shears. With him he brings hands on experience styling hair for a variety of runway shows, including several for the pinnacle of style, New York Fashion Week. Jeromy is a creative thinker whose styles have been emulated by top stylists from all over the country. Specializing in men’s clipper cuts and women’s advanced coloring and cutting, when Jeromy isn’t in the salon, he’s styling fashion models, corporate professionals and individuals who love to rock a great look… and hairstyle. |

Amber Carroll
Amber Carroll grew up in Nashville, watching her mother style hair for music videos, concerts, and photo shoots. Her love for fashion and people drove her to pursue a career in hair dressing, with an expertise in color.
For the past 11 years, she has dedicated herself to keeping clients updated with the latest trends and technologies of the industry, using luxury environmentally-conscious color and product lines to ensure the integrity and beauty of their hair. Additionally, Amber is an Extension Specialist and Educator for Perfectress line of extensions.
Amber is a member of the Davines Educator Team, educating and inspiring stylists and colorists with products that have fueled her own passion. She is also on the Artistic Team with Modern Salon Services teaching a unique French coloring technique known as balayage. Her passion to create custom tailored hair color and haircuts has been fueled by attending advanced coloring and cutting courses from some of the top hair dressers in the country, including national master hair cutters at Vidal Sassoon Chicago to learn precision cutting skills. She recently added flamboyage, a modern multi-dimensional hi-lighting technique, to her craft.
Amber enjoys creating a unique image for every guest who sits in her chair that will reveal who they really are and bring out their inner beauty. She is a true visionary color specialist.
